A lot of people always comment on how they’ll never be able to dunk. Fact is a lot of people won’t be able to dunk, which is because of a very poor attitude. Improving a vertical jump requires a lot of hard work, dedication; not to mention correct training. Also nutrition is a key factor in helping the body reach its full physical potential.Vertical jumping of course isn’t just about dunking the ball, it is also that same explosiveness that helps grab rebounds, block shots, and much more. A lot of the time the ball is not in your hand in a basketball game, and stamina is the key issue. What you do without the ball is more important a lot of times than what you do with the ball in your hands.

There’s many training exercises such as foam rolling. It is a very simple, yet extremely effective stretching method that can yield very positive results. The cost for getting the foam is very cheap it can be picked up right at Walmart, or your local store. There’s plenty of videos online to show how to effectively do the stretching for maximal gain.

Lunges is another great way to help strengthen your legs, which is also a great way to work on explosiveness. Lunges take a lot of grit, hard work; not to mention discipline. Its a very tiring exercise that many people hate to do. Think about the benefits that will be reaped at the end of each workout after you push through it.

Fact is anybody that has two good working legs can jump up to dunk a basketball. It’s not as intimidating, or as far-fetched that many people make it out to be. There’s many programs out there that add onto a persons vertical jump with as much as 10 inches. However, the program is strict so it requires a lot of effort. Don’t let anybody every discourage you from saying your to short to dunk a basketball.
